Warming up
第一步:合上書(shū)本,要求學(xué)生說(shuō)出對(duì)英語(yǔ)有多少了解(How much do you know about the English
language?)讓學(xué)生自由回答(It is the official language of many
countries and the UN; It is learned by people in many
non-English s
2、peaking countries; etc. Answers may vary);
第二步:向?qū)W生介紹世界上兩種主要的英語(yǔ):VOA(Voice of America)英語(yǔ)和BBC(British
Broadcasting Corporation)英語(yǔ),
如有足夠的資料,可以播放兩段錄音,讓學(xué)生比較這兩種英語(yǔ)在語(yǔ)音上的區(qū)別,例如hot, not, dance, answer
等;
第三步:引入英式英
3、語(yǔ)和美式英語(yǔ)在詞匯上的區(qū)別,除了課本里提到的例子,向?qū)W生提供更多英式英語(yǔ)的單詞讓學(xué)生說(shuō)出相對(duì)應(yīng)的美式英語(yǔ)單詞;
例如:film, autumn, rubber, tyre, theatre, colour, ...
( movie, fall, eraser, tire, theater, color ...)
第四步: 可提前向?qū)W生介紹第12頁(yè)的 Activities 4 and 5.
先讓學(xué)生獨(dú)立完成習(xí)題4,然后核對(duì)答案。至于習(xí)題5,則讓
4、學(xué)生聽(tīng)錄音跟讀,讓學(xué)生體會(huì)英式英語(yǔ)和美式英語(yǔ)在詞匯上的不同,并注意重音和語(yǔ)調(diào)。
Pre-reading
第一步:讓學(xué)生說(shuō)出他們知道的說(shuō)英文國(guó)家名( How many English-speaking countries can
you think of ?), 老師可以適當(dāng)補(bǔ)充一些學(xué)生不太熟悉的國(guó)家名字,例如 Jamaica,
Philippines, Pakistan, Bangladesh, New Zealand, Palestine

第二步:學(xué)生分組討論:Do you know the reasons why English is spoken by so
many people in so many different countries? 適當(dāng)給學(xué)生一些提示詞語(yǔ):trade,
tourism, Internet website, official language of UN,

第三步:討論完畢后,讓個(gè)別學(xué)生用自己的話回答問(wèn)題;
第四步:總結(jié)學(xué)生的發(fā)言,給學(xué)生一個(gè)比較全面的參考答案:

第一步:向?qū)W生解釋聽(tīng)力任務(wù),讓學(xué)生明確聽(tīng)力目的:Activity
1,聽(tīng)錄音,寫(xiě)出與練習(xí)中英式英語(yǔ)詞匯相對(duì)應(yīng)的美式英語(yǔ)詞匯;Activity 2,聽(tīng)錄音,回答問(wèn)題;
第二步:學(xué)生獨(dú)立完成 Activity
1,并全班一起核對(duì)答案。再次對(duì)學(xué)生強(qiáng)調(diào)英式英
10、文和美式英文在詞匯上的區(qū)別,例如本題練習(xí)中出現(xiàn)的六組詞語(yǔ);

第三步:在學(xué)生瀏覽 Activity 2 的問(wèn)題后,播放錄音,學(xué)生邊聽(tīng)邊記錄有用信息點(diǎn)(視學(xué)生具體情況決定播放錄

第四步:學(xué)生回答問(wèn)題,全班核對(duì)答案;
第五步:向?qū)W生補(bǔ)充關(guān)于聽(tīng)力如何捕捉有用信息的技巧,幫助學(xué)生改進(jìn)聽(tīng)力方法。
在 Activity 2
里,要回答五個(gè)問(wèn)題,學(xué)生必須在聽(tīng)前瀏覽問(wèn)題,把握聽(tīng)力的重點(diǎn)應(yīng)該放在哪些信息點(diǎn)上。例如,問(wèn)題一“What TV
programme is Zhao Li watching? ”的重點(diǎn)詞是TV
programme,因
12、此在聽(tīng)錄音的過(guò)程中,學(xué)生如果對(duì)與TV programme
有關(guān)的信息加以注意,很容易就可以捕捉到答案應(yīng)為 CCTV 9's World Wide Watch. 再如,問(wèn)題四“How
will listening to a good speaker of English help you?”的重點(diǎn)詞應(yīng)為
How,在聽(tīng)錄音的過(guò)程中,學(xué)生應(yīng)該對(duì)“如何幫助你學(xué)好英語(yǔ)”這個(gè)問(wèn)題形成緊張感,從而留意到聽(tīng)力原文中的問(wèn)題“Wouldn't
it be better to listen to a native speaker?” 以及該問(wèn)題的答案“Any good
speaker of English can help your listening skill”。
