2019-2020年高考英語二輪復(fù)習(xí) 人生百味類 閱讀理解(2) xx高考英語閱讀理解--人生百味類 Have you ever plained why life is so tiring? Does the sky sometimes seem dark to you? Are your studies sometimes not successful? Well, friends, cheer up and smile all the time. If you see the world with your warm heart, you’ll find that the whole world smiles to you. While in school, sometimes you are tired of your lessons, but have you ever noticed the happy smile on your teacher’s face when you did a good job? One day it is fine. Just before you go out, it suddenly starts to rain. Maybe you would feel very sad and start to plain about the weather. But dear friends, why don’t you sit down and listen to the free concerts that the nature offers you? And with the timely rain, crops in the fields will grow better and better and farmers will have a good harvest. Although everyone wants to succeed in what he tries to do, sometimes failure can’t be avoided. I think failure is not terrible, and the terrible thing is that we are afraid of it and give up hope. When we face failure, we must be confident in ourselves, draw a useful lesson from it and try our best to finish what we have decided to do. As a popular saying goes, “Failure is the mother of success”. Attitude decides everything. With an optimistic attitude life is easy and pleasant. Let’s smile to whatever we meet and the whole world will smile to us. 【小題1】People sometimes plain _________. We spend all year looking forward to nice weather and long, hot days. All of winter, with its cloudy days and bitter cold, we dream of those endless days at the beach, lying on the sand and enjoying the bright and burning sun. And then, summer es, and it rains. As a child, I would wake up to rainy summer days and e close to crying. It wasn’t fair. We suffered through months of school and experienced bad weather for those short ten weeks of freedom and pleasant weather. On those rainy summer days, I had nothing fun to do and could only sit inside, staring out at the rain like a bird in a cage. I was an only child, so there was no one else to play with. My father worked from home, so I was not truly alone, but he could not actively play with me since he was at work. It was those days that I would watch whatever was on television or read any books that I could find lying around. I’d drag through the day and pray each night that the rain would not be there the next day. As an adult, though, my opinion of summer rain has changed. When you have to work every day, summer is not as exciting. Everything seems dull. Such a mindset makes you cheer for anything new or different. I spend the winter dreaming of summer and the summer dreaming of winter. When summer es, I hate how hot it is. And then I look forward to the rain, because the rain brings with it a cold front, which makes me fortable. Rainy days are still the worst days of the summer, but summer rain today means positively beautiful — and considerably cooler — weather tomorrow. 【小題1】When the author was a child, he ______. A.hated rainy days B.liked staying indoors C.preferred cooler weather D.dreamed on summer days 【小題2】We can learn from the passage that the author ______. A.was often left alone at home B.had no brothers or sisters C.preferred reading to playing outside D.could enjoy the brilliant sun in winter 【小題3】As an adult, the author views summer rain differently because ______. A.he knows it won’t last long B.his summer holiday is very short C.rain makes the weather cooler D.he can better deal with his holiday 閱讀下列短文, 從給的四個選項(xiàng) (A、B、C和D) 中, 選出最佳選項(xiàng)。 (xx鄭州市二模,B) It was an autumn morning shortly after my husband and I moved into our first house. Our children were upstairs unpacking, and I was looking out of the window at my father moving around mysteriously on the front lawn. “What are you doing out there?” I called to him. He looked up, smiling, “Im making you a surprise.” I thought it could be just about anything. When we were kids, he always created something surprising for us. Today, however, Dad would say no more, and caught up in the business of our new life, I eventually forgot about his surprise. Until one gloomy day the next March when I glanced out of the window, I saw a dot of blue across the yard. I headed outside for a closer look. They were crocuses (番紅花) throughout the front lawn—blue, yellow and my favorite pink, with little faces moving up and down in the cold wind. I remembered the things Dad secretly planted last autumn. He knew how the darkness and dullness of winter always got me down. What could have been more perfectly timely to my needs? My fathers crocuses bloomed (開花) each spring for the next five seasons, always bringing the same assurance: Hard times are almost over. Hold on, keep going, and light is ing soon. Then a spring came with only half the usual blooms and the next spring there were none. I missed the crocuses, so I would ask Dad to e over and plant new bulbs. But I never did. He died suddenly one October day. My family were in deep sorrow, leaning on our faith. On a spring afternoon four years later, I was driving back when I felt depressed. It was Dads birthday, and I found myself thinking about him. This was not unusual—my family often talked about him, remembering how he lived up to his faith. Suddenly I slowed as I turned into our driveway. I stopped and stared at the lawn. There on the muddy grass with small piles of melting snow, bravely waving in the wind, was one pink crocus. How could a flower bloom from a bulb more than 18 years ago, one that hadnt bloomed in over a decade? But there was the crocus. Tears filled my eyes as I realized its significance. Hold on, keep going, and light is ing soon. The pink crocus bloomed for only a day, but it built my faith for a lifetime. 4.According to the first three paragraphs, we learn that ________. Mikio Okada, one of at least nine people killed as snowstorms swept across Hokkaido (北海道), died as he tried to protect his only child Natsune against winds of up to 109 kilometers per hour in Yubetsu, Hokkaido, as temperatures fell sharply to minus 6 degrees centigrade. Okadas body was uncovered by rescuers looking for the pair after relatives raised the alarm. Natsune was wearing her fathers jacket and was wrapped in his arms. The pair had last been heard from at 4 p. m. on Saturday, after fisherman Okada picked his daughter up from a school where she was being looked after while he was at work. Okada called his relatives to say his truck had bee stuck in the driving snow, which was several meters deep in places. He told them he and Natsune would walk the remaining kilometre. The two were found just 300 meters from the truck at 7 a.m. on Sunday. Okada had his body bent over his daughter, gently holding her in his arms and apparently using his body and a warehouse wall to provide shelter. The small girl was taken to hospital, where she was found to have no serious injuries. Her father was officially pronounced dead by doctors at the same hospital. The newspaper Yomiuri said Natsunes mother had died of illness two years earlier. The paper quoted neighbors as saying Okada had been an extremely caring father who would often delay the start of his working day to enjoy breakfast with his daughter. His death came as families all over Japan celebrated Girls Day, a festival in which they gather at home and decorate houses with dolls. “He reserved a cake for his only daughter and was looking forward to celebrating Dolls Festival together,” a neighbor told the Yomiuri. 文章大意:本文是一篇新聞報道。文章報道了在日本發(fā)生的一場暴風(fēng)雪,父親為了保護(hù)女兒被凍死的感人故事。 8.When the disaster happened, the father and daughter were ________.
