Yeah, I 1 to some degree, though I sometimes do want to 2 them how much they know about Beckham, apart from his 3 and how much they know about football apart from 4 goals. We need these pleasures to 8 our lives. But that doesn’t 9 to craziness or nonsense. As an old saying goes: "Don’t judge a book by its cover." We 10 not judge anything from its appearance. We should all know, it is one’s good 11 and great contribution that make one a star and unforgettable. Therefore we’d better say 12 about Beckham’s good looks. Every day trees are serving man everywhere. Trees supply man with fruits and building materials in the form of wood, without trees it would be impossible to build houses, boats, bridges and so on. Furniture such as desks, chairs and beds is made of wood, trees can stop man from terrible heat. Theyre also useful in preventing good and rich top soil from being washed away during heavy rains. If there were no trees, heavy rains would wash away the rich surface soil that is so important to plants. The result is that the land will bee a desert. There are plenty of desert areas in the world. A long time ago these desert areas used to be very rich areas, but man in the past had no enough knowledge about science of nature, they cut down too many trees in the area where they lived and never planted new ones. One of the studies looked at nearly 400northern California third-graders. Those with TVs in their bedrooms scored about eight points lower on math and language arts tests than children without bedroom TVs. A second study, looking at nearly 1000 grown-ups in New Zealand, found lower education levels among 26-year –olds who had watched lots of TV during childhood .But the results don’t prove that TV is the cause and dont ride out that already poorly motivated youngsters(年輕人)may wash lots of TV. Their study measured the TV habits of 26-year-olds between ages5 and 15. These with college degrees had watched average of less than two hours of TV per week night during childhood, pared with an average of more than 2 1/2 hours those who had no education beyond high school. In the California study, children with TVs in their rooms but no puter at home scored the lowest while those with no bedroom TV but who had home puters scored the highest. While this study does not prove that bedroom TV sets caused the lower scores, it adds to accumulating families that children shouldnt have TVs in their bedrooms. 28. What is the researchers understanding of the New Zealand study results? A. Poorly motivated 26-year-olds watch more TV. B. Habits of TV watching reduce learning interest C. TV watching leads to lower education levels of the 15-year-olds. D. The connection between TV and education levels is difficult to explain 29. What can we learn from the last two paragraphs? A.
