Module 9 Heroes 一、教學目標本模塊的中心話題是英雄，內(nèi)容涉及科技、歷史、娛樂等領域中的英雄人物可以培養(yǎng)同學們學習英語、勤奮努力、做國家棟梁的情感素質。語言知識方面要求大家：1能夠正確使用下列單詞和詞組：avoid, brave, excuse, thought, rewrite, army, Canada, Canadian, medical, treat, treatment, Dr(=doctor), war, invent, tool, operate, operation; come up, so that, on ones own, give ones life to, in the end, take care of, stop to do sth., continue doing sth., in spite of, bothand, in order to, thousands of等。2語法：掌握由so, so that和because引導的狀語從句。二、重難點知識講解1But the last piece is coming up. Im looking forward to this!但是最后一首曲子馬上就要開始了。我期待著(聽這首曲子)!（1）come up表示“發(fā)生，出現(xiàn)”。e.g.Ill let you know if anything comes up. 一有事發(fā)生我就通知你。Im afraid something urgent has come up; I wont be able to see you tonight. 很抱歉，有點兒急事，今晚不能見你了。（2）“l(fā)ook forward to名詞/代詞/doing”的意思是“期待/盼望”。e.g.Im really looking forward to our holiday.我真心盼望著我們假期的到來。Theyre looking forward to seeing the film.他們期待著看這個電影。2 So that Kylie could play this piece of music on her own. 這樣凱麗就可以獨自演奏這首曲子了。（1）so that可以引導一個狀語從句，表目的，意思是“為的是；目的是”。so that引導的目的狀語從句中常常用到一些情態(tài)動詞，如“can, could, will, may”等等。e.g.I got up early so that I could catch the first bus.為了能趕上頭班車，我很早就起床了。You should work harder so that you can pass the exam next time.為了下次能夠通過考試，你應該更加努力學習。so that連接的是帶目的狀語從句的復合句。我們也可以用簡單句來改寫這種復合句，這里用一個介詞短語“in order to”。e.g.I get up early so that I can catch the early bus.我起床早以便能趕上早班公共汽車。1 / 11=I get up early in order to catch the early bus.sothat意為“如此以致”，引導結果狀語從句。so后接形容詞或副詞原形。e.g.He runs so fast that nobody can catch up with him.他跑得如此之快，以致沒有人追得上他。They study so hard that they are the best in the class.他們學習如此努力，以致他們的成績是班上最好的。The problem so difficult that nobody can work it out in my class.這么題目這么難以致于我們班沒人會做。（2）on ones own表示“獨立地，單獨地；獨自地”。e.g.I made this bookshelf all on my own.這個書架是我自己做的。Shes been living on her own for ten years.她獨自生活已有10年了。3Theyre standing up because theyre both going to play.兩個人都站起來，因為兩個人都要演奏。because conj.因為。because作為從屬連詞，用以引導原因狀語從句時，其后應是一個不含有引導詞的句子。e.g.I do it because I like it. 我做這件事是因為我喜歡。I am late because the traffic is too bad. 因為交通阻塞今天我遲到了。because從句通常用來說明一個直接的原因，引導一個原因狀語從句，這時主從句可改成由so連接的并列句。e.g.I can go with you today because Im too busy.Im too busy today, so I cant go with you. 今天我不能跟你一塊去，因為我太忙了。We all like the little girl because shes very beautiful and clever.=The little girl is very beautiful and clever, so we all like her.我們都喜歡那個小女孩，因為她非常漂亮，聰明。注意：漢語中可以說“因為所以”，但英語中如用了because就不能再用so，用了so就不能再用because。拓展：because of是介詞，其后接名詞、代詞或動名詞。She cried because of what you said.她哭是因為你說的話。I am late because of the bad traffic.因為交通阻塞今天我遲到了。4I imagined that she did it so that Kylie could avoid problems with her parents.我想她這么做是為了避免凱麗和她的父母之間產(chǎn)生矛盾。（1）imagine vt. 想象，設想，猜想，料想imagine + n./ pron. e.g.You can not imagine their surprise at hearing the news. 你不能想象聽了這消息他們多么驚訝。imagine + doing sth.e.g.Can you imagine living without electricity? 你能想象沒有電的生活嗎?
