Notes: Teaching important points: 1. Review: He was fat then. Now he is thin. It was short then. Now it was long. They were short then. Now they are tall. 2. Understand and master: wasn’t, weren’t. Teaching difficult points: 1. Distinguish: was, wasn’t, were, weren’t. Students Analysis: There are too many contents in this unit. Children are not easy to accept it. Some children even can’t distinguish “was, were, wasn’t, weren’t”. Teaching Aids: Cards: short, long; short, tall; thin, fat; young, old. Teaching Procedures: Step 1: Warming up 1. Sing to greeting. 2. Say a chant. Step 2: Revision 1. Say and do the actions. 2. Page 27: activity 3 Read the adj. words. 3. Look the pictures. 4. Say the sentences again: 1) He was fat then. Now he is thin. 2) They were young then. Now they are old. 3) It was short then. Now it is long. 4) They were short then. Now they are tall. 5. Read the sentences after T. Step 3: Presentation 1. Page 26: activity 1 1) Listen to the tape and try to understand it. 2) Listen to the tape and find “was, were”. 3) Read the sentences that contain the word “was” or “were”. 4) Listen to the tape and repeat the sentences. 5) Understand “weren’t”: They were young then. = They weren’t old then. 6) Learn to say: weren’t 7) Understand “wasn’t”: My hair was short then. = My hair wasn’t long then. 8) Learn to say: wasn’t 9) Find “wasn’t” and “weren’t” in the text. 10) Learn to read the text. 2. Enjoy a beautiful song on page 29 “I was fat”. Sing it and do the actions. 2. Show the pictures on page 27 part 3. Give the Ss some adjectives, and let them describe the pictures. Pay attention to the differences between “then” and “now”.復(fù)習(xí)上節(jié)課的知識(shí)點(diǎn)已達(dá)到鞏固的目的,為本課打好基礎(chǔ)。 Step 2 Presentation and practice 1. T: 教師出示幾張假期出游的照片,向?qū)W生提問:Where is it? No, they were in London. 板書:They were in London. 4. How about his father? He was in Hong Kong.板書。 5. Was Dad in London? No,He wasn’t. So he wasn’t in London.強(qiáng)調(diào)Wasn’t 的用法并板書。 6. Listen, point and repeat the text. Then let the Ss practice their reading. 7. Find 2 Ss read the letter. 8. Tell something about the format of the letters. Let them know the differences between Chinese letters and Western letters. Step 3 Consolidation and extension 1. Do the exercises 1 on Students book P28 part 2. First match the people and the pictures, and then let the Ss describe them. 2. Game: Finding differences from the two pictures on page 29. Have a petition among the 4 groups.
