T: What’s the date? Ss: It’s January 1st. T: It’s New Year’s Day. (Let Ss guess the Chinese meaning. Then another date.) What’s the date? Ss: It’s June 1st. T: It’s Children’s Day… The same way with other festivals “Spring Festival, International Workers’ Day, Teachers’ Day, National Day, Women’s Day, Christmas”. Show them on the screen and have Ss read them a few times. Step2. Dispel suspicion using mutual help. 1.Teach the new words. 2.Play the tape for the students to listen and finish Ex1 in Let’ Do It. . Then check the answers. 3.Get the students to read the text in groups and find the answers in Ex2 and3 in Let’ Do It. 4.Teach some important points. Show pictures of each festival.
