A child can make a whole alternative universe with a vivid imagination and Toothless, the hero’s hunting dragon, thus turning a rainy day into an adventure of lifetime. However, if you have never read the book but instead choose to see the film version, you might think you were seeing a newage war movie meant for adults rather than children. Let’s look at Where the Wild Things Are for further discussion. The story centers around a lovely eightyearold boy named Max, who sails away to an island. Creatures living there declare Max their king. What an amazing piece of children’s literature! A treasure for every child’s library. Yet, children were crying in the movie theatre. Owls were falling from the sky, chicken’s arms were being torn off, and a child was running around a dark abandoned world fighting evil as the only human. It was almost as if Hollywood could not imagine children enjoying a movie for its basic literature content. Hollywood might be right. But more and more its audiences are complaining that there is an increased amount of violence in children’s stories today than in the past. While there appears to be a trend in our society to make more violence more accessible to younger children, books and literature are generally an exception. I truly believe that children’s literature has become more vivid and colorful. This is a great treasure for the children, and is certainly not violent. What has changed the children’s stories of today is not the writers, but the film industry. In some way, children’s literature is just being strangely twisted. I wonder how much influence the author has over this. 1.It can be inferred that the film Where the Wild Things Are is . A.moving B.frightening C.interesting D.a(chǎn)mazing B 由第二段中...children were crying...Owls were falling from the sky, chicken’s arms were being torn off,and a child was running around a dark abandoned world fighting evil...“……孩子們哭了……貓頭鷹從天上掉下來,雞的翅膀被撕掉,而一個孩子在被拋棄的黑暗世界里對抗邪惡?!笨芍?,這部電影是很可怕的。 2.According to the text, the author thinks that . A.the film industry’s treatment of children’s literature is wrong B.writers should provide more colorful works for children C.there is an increase in violence in children’s literature D.children should read books rather than see films A 解析:細(xì)節(jié)理解題。根據(jù)最后一段中What has changed the children’s stories of today is not the writers, but the film industry.“改變?nèi)缃窈⒆觽児适碌牟皇亲髡撸请娪靶袠I(yè)?!笨芍狝項正確。 3.How does the text mainly develop? She buys or borrows a print book only when it’s not available digitally. Miscioscio says most of her friends and relatives have also switched to ebooks for the convenience and lower prices. Last winter, she notes, she vacationed in Costa Rica and says“At least, 75% of those reading were reading electronically. I was shocked to see people taking their ereaders onto the loungers in the pool.” Meier, 43, a marketing director in Beaver Falls, prefers her books on paper, not screens. After working on a computer all day, she says,“I want a book in my hand. Turning over its pages is my way of knowing it’s time to relax and slow down.”Meier, who’s sticking with physical books, doesn’t consider herself any kind of digital“resister”.“I’m comfortable with all forms of technology,”she says.“However, when it comes to books, I suppose I’m a traditionalist. My preference will always be the real thing.” To her, part of the joy of reading is the book itself:“pulling it from the shelf, inspecting the cover, letting it fall open to a random page.” Both have lots of company. Statistics show that ebook sales grew 43% last year, but that’s a slowdown compared with the tripledigit increases in recent years. Ebooks remain the fastestgrowing part of the book market but account for only about 20% of all sales, reported by publishers. Miscioscio and Meier are at opposite ends of a book business in transition. Even though ebook sales have grown more than 4,000% since 2008, it’s unlikely that physical books will disappear the way records did in the music industry. 【文章大意】 本文主要講述了ebook近年來越來越受人們歡迎,但仍有許多人喜歡paper book,作者認(rèn)為將來會兩種書并存,以滿足不同人們的需要。 4.Miscioscio will when a book is not available digitally. A.give up reading such kind of books B.switch to the book of lower price C.buy the book on paper D.take an ereader onto the loungers C 解析:細(xì)節(jié)理解題。根據(jù)第一段的She buys or borrows a print book only when it’s not available digitally.可知,只有在沒有電子書的時候,她才會去買或借一本紙質(zhì)書,故選C。 5.According to Meier, her “preference” refers to . A.paper book B.part of joy C.a(chǎn) random page D.a(chǎn)n ebook A 解析:細(xì)節(jié)理解題。根據(jù)第二段的“However, when it comes to books,I suppose I’m a traditionalist.和To her, part of the joy of reading is the book itself:“pulling it from the shelf, inspecting the cover, letting it fall open to a random page.”可知,應(yīng)是paper book,故選A。 6.What can we learn from the last paragraph? A.Records are unlikely to disappear in the music industry. B.Miscioscio and Meier are two opponents in book business. C.The market share of ebooks is bigger than that of paper books. D.Physical books will remain to be accepted to some people. D 解析:推理判斷題。根據(jù)文章最后一段的最后一句話中的it’s unlikely that physical books will disappear the way records did in the music industry可知,紙質(zhì)書不會像音樂行業(yè)的唱片那樣消失,故選D。 7.What is the passage mainly concerned with? A.Ebooks will dominate the book industry eventually. B.Readers go their own way in choosing books. C.New technology brings more benefits for readers. D.Physical books will disappear gradually in the future. B 解析:推理判斷題。本文通過兩個例子(有的人喜歡紙質(zhì)書,有的人喜歡電子書)說明了paper book和ebook都受人們的青睞,只是看人們的習(xí)慣不同而已。故選B。 C (2016全國名校聯(lián)盟高三上學(xué)期聯(lián)考) The capsizing(傾覆)of Eastern Star, with 454 people on board, will not affect cruise ship(游輪) tourism in China in the long term, but may have an immediate fallout,an analyst says. On June 1,the ship sank in the Yangtze River in Central China’s Hubei province, in the face of a fierce storm, killing all but 12 people aboard. According to Zhang Lingyun, the deputy dean of tourism college at Beijing Union University, the ship capsized owing“mainly to rare weather conditions”.“But the public needs time to put the tragedy behind, so there might be a shortterm fallout from it.” Ctrip, a major Chinese online travel agency, has received some requests from customers seeking to cancel their bookings on cruise ships after the incident. More than 50 tourists canceled their planned cruises, says Huang He, general manager of Xiyanghong Travel Agency in Suzhou in eastern China’s Jiangsu province. His company expects more people to withdraw from such trips in the coming days. The Nanjing branch of Shanghai Xiehe Travel Agency, which organized the river excursion (游覽)of the capsized Eastern Star, canceled its next cruise, which was to start on June 15. The private company said another trip, set for June 17,might also be canceled. The cruise business in China is developing very fast as more Chinese take to this mode of luxury travel. Last year, more than 220 cruise ships set sail from Shanghai alone, with approximately 1.2 million passengers, according to the annual report on China’s cruise industry, prepared by Shanghai Center for International Cruise Economic Research, an industry body. Most river cruise routes are between Hubei province’s Yichang to Chongqing on the Yangtze River, says Chen Caiyin, public affairs manager of Ctrip’s Beijing office.“We still have guests signing up for the cruise trip at the moment,”Chen says, adding that Ctrip has a procedure to refund money if their customers wish to cancel their cruise trip. Many travel agencies still offer tourism products on the Yangtze River. A fiveday cruise on the river costs around 2,000 yuan ($ 322) at present—the usual price has not been changed after the tragedy, Chen says. 【文章大意】 本文介紹了“東方之星”沉船事故。 8.What can be the main idea of the news report? A.Cruise ship tourism in China is increasing rapidly. B.Longterm cruise business unlikely upset by Eastern Star tragedy. C.Tourism products offered by travel agencies on the Yangtze River. D.Eastern Star sank in the Yangtze River in Central China’s Hubei province. B 解析:主旨大意題。本文在開頭點出了主題:The capsizing(傾覆) of Eastern Star, with 454 people on board, will not affect cruise ship(游輪) tourism in China in the long term,下文進(jìn)行了具體介紹。故選B項。 9.The ship overturned mainly due to . A.unusual weather conditions B.its hitting something in the river C.its traveling at too fast a speed D.the overload of too many passengers A 解析:推理判斷題。根據(jù)第二段的the ship capsized owing “mainly to rare weather conditions”可知,這起事故主要是由罕見的天氣情況導(dǎo)致的。故選A項。 10.Which of the following phrases can replace the underlined word “refund” in Para. 5? A.Put out. B.Take on. C.Turn over. D.Give back. D 解析:詞意猜測題。根據(jù)上文可知,此處Ctrip has a procedure to refund money if their customers wish to cancel their cruise trip.如果顧客希望取消他們的游輪之旅,可以退款給他們,所以此處應(yīng)該是“退還”的意思。 11.The passage tells us that . A.Ctrip is a major Chinese shipping company B.there were 466 people on board when the ship capsized C.Most river cruise routes are between Wuhan and Chongqing D.A travel agency in Nanjing organized the cruise of the Eastern Star D 解析:推理判斷題。根據(jù)第三段中的The Nanjing branch of Shanghai Xiehe Travel Agency, which organized the river excursion(游覽)of the capsized Eastern Star 可得答案。 D (2016湖南省雅禮中學(xué)高三第二次調(diào)研)Blind tasting is a very strange activity. Contrary to what many imagine, it has nothing to do with blindfolds. It involves tasting a wine without seeing the label and it can deliver shocking surprises. I tasted seven champagnes(香檳) blind with a group of professionals recently. There was a shock when they discovered the wine most of them preferred carried a label they regarded as their least favorite. That sort of result is especially common with champagne, the most imagedriven rather than qualitydriven wine of all. But it happens all the time when wine is tasted blind. Because I’m interested in how wines really taste instead of how I think they should, I taste wine blind as often as I can, especially when assessing similar young wines. But blind tasting when you know absolutely nothing about the wine in front of you is something completely different. The most difficult Master of Wine exams include three sessions during which you have a dozen glasses in front of you and nothing more helpful than a printed exam paper asking you to identify (鑒定) each wine as closely as possible, and assess its quality. Now that the MW is behind me, I taste wine completely blind only very rarely, and never in public. So my blind tastings these days are round the dinner table with good friends and once a year when I act as a judge, with Hugh Johnson, in the Oxford v Cambridge winetasting competition. This is the most extraordinary match, always held before the Boat Race but taken just as seriously nowadays. This year’s tasteoff took place at the end of last month, as usual in the Oxford and Cambridge Club on Pall Mall in London. 【文章大意】 盲品(blind tasting)并不是大多數(shù)人想象中的蒙著眼睛品酒,而是通過純品嘗而非看酒標(biāo)來對葡萄酒進(jìn)行評價。 12.Which of the following is TRUE about Blind tasting? A.Blind tasting is the professional way to identify a wine. B.Blind tasting usually has the right result. C.Blind tasting means tasting a wine with one’s eyes covered. D.Blind tasting is tasting a wine without seeing the label. D 解析:細(xì)節(jié)理解題。根據(jù)第一段中的It involves tasting a wine without seeing the label可知,盲品就是不看酒的商標(biāo)去品嘗酒。故選D項。 13.Why did the professionals get shocked at the result of their blind tasting? A.They got all the results correctly. B.They didn’t recognize their favorite at all. C.The writer made no mistakes. D.Champagnes can not be tasted blind. B 解析:細(xì)節(jié)理解題。根據(jù)第一段中的There was a shock when they discovered the wine most of them preferred carried a label they regarded as their least favorite.(當(dāng)他們發(fā)現(xiàn)自己挑選出來的自己最喜歡的酒竟然貼著他們平時最不喜歡的酒的標(biāo)簽時,非常吃驚。)可分析出只有B選項最符合原文。 14.Which of the following interests the writer most? A.Assessing young wines. B.Master of wine exams. C.Tasting wine blind in public. D.Oxford v Cambridge winetasting competition. A 解析:細(xì)節(jié)理解題。根據(jù)第二段中的Because I’m interested in how wines really taste instead of how I think they should,I taste wine blind as often as I can, especially when assessing similar young wines.可知答案。 15.What can we infer from the last paragraph? A.The Boat Race is taken more seriously than the wine race. B.The Oxford v Cambridge winetasting competition is held annually. C.The author didn’t act as a judge last year. D.Pall Mall is chosen as the competition place for the first time. B 解析:推理判斷題。根據(jù)第三段所講述的意思,尤其是關(guān)鍵信息and once a year when I act as a judge, with Hugh Johnson,in the Oxford v Cambridge winetasting competition.可知競賽是每年一次,故答案為B選項。 第二節(jié)(共5小題;每小題2分,滿分10分) 根據(jù)短文內(nèi)容,從短文后的選項中選出能填入空白處的最佳選項。選項中有兩項為多余選項。 (2016山東新泰第一中學(xué)高三質(zhì)檢)Does this situation seem familiar to you? Your English is progressing well, the grammar is now familiar, the reading comprehension is no problem, you are communicating quite fluently. 16. First of all, remember that you are not alone. Listening comprehension is probably the most difficult task for almost all learners of English as a foreign language. So, the most important thing is to listen as often as possible. 17. The Internet is really a useful tool for English students. You can download The RealPlayer from Real Media.com, which allows you to use the Internet like a radio station. Once you have begun to listen on a regular basis, you might still be frustrated by limited understanding.18. Here is some of the advice I give my students: Accept the fact that you are not going to understand everything. Keep cool when you do not understand—even if you continue not to understand for a long time. 19. Don’t concentrate on details until you have understood the main idea. 20. This approach usually results in confusion. Translating leads to a kind of block in one’s brain which sometimes doesn’t allow us to understand anything at all! By remaining calm, allowing yourself not to understand, and not to translate while listening, your brain is free to concentrate on the most important thing: understanding English in English. A.Secondly, most people repeat themselves constantly. B.What should you do? C.Do not translate everything into your native language. D.This situation leads to less—not more—understanding. E.The next step is to find listening resources. F.Listen for the general idea of the conversation. G.But listening is still a problem. 答案:16~20.GEBFC 第二部分 英語知識運用 [共兩節(jié),滿分45分] 第一節(jié) 完形填空(共20小題;每小題1.5分,滿分30分) 閱讀下面短文,從短文后各題所給的四個選項(A、B、C和D)中,選出可以填入空白處的最佳選項。 (2016嘉峪關(guān)市一中高三模擬)When you concentrate, you focus on one thing and get other thoughts out of your mind.
