Read the sentences below the cards quickly and correctly in groups. 2. Sentences on Uncle Booky’s Bb. Passage : 1. SB.P8 Ask them to read together. 2. Ask them to work in groups to act out. 3. Have them act out in pairs. SB. P5. 1. Ask them to listen to the tape carefully. 2. Read after the tape. 3. Observe carefully and find the pronunciation of “e & a”. 4 .Give more examples by Ss. 5. Let’s chant again. 1. Do more Ex. about the sounds 2. Read and circle. P8 ask them to read carefully and circle, then correct mistakes. 3. SB. P9. Listen and Match. 1). Listen carefully and match. 2). Check answers. 3). Describe in groups. To cultivate Ss’ interest (especially those who are weak in English). To strengthen their petitive consciousness. Learn the pronunciation of each word. 2. Use the sentence patterns to municate with each other. 3. Master the whole text. AIDS: Multi-media, a tape recorder, a piece of paper PROCEDURES: I. Pre-task Preparation 1. Free talk: T: First ask the students: What day is it today? Then ask them: Who is on duty today? Ss: Learn the new phrase: on duty. And answer the question. T: Ask the student who is on duty: Is there anybody absent today? S: Try to answer: Yes, there is./ No, there isn’t. 2. Play a game: Mind up. T: Give the students four verbs: do, clean, eat and wash. Ss: Use these verbs to make phrases as many as they can. 3. Sing a song: T: Show a clock on the screen. Then ask the students: What time is it? Ss: Try to answer: It’s 7:50. It’s time for morning exercise. T: Make a suggestion: Shall we do some exercise? Are you ready? T&Ss: Sing the song “Do some exercise with me”. At the same time, do some exercise. T: Ask the students: Are you tired? If the students say “Yes”, agree them and say: You are really tired. Ss: Learn the word: really. II. While-task Procedure 1. Free talk: T: Tell the students: I am really busy every day. Do you want to know? Then show a table on the screen: Time Activity 6:40 get up 6:45 brush my teeth and wash my face 7:00 go to school 8:30 have classes 11:20 have lunch 12:20 have classes 4:30 go home 9:00 watch TV 10:00 go to bed Talk about the day with the students: 1)T: Tell the students: I get up at 6:40. What do I usually do at 6:45? (Try to pretend to brush my teeth and wash my face.) Ss: Guess out and say that: Do you brush your teeth and wash your face? And learn the phrases: brush one’s teeth and wash one’s face. 2) T: Ask the students: What do I usually do at 7:00? 3) Ss: Try to guess. T: Finally tell them that: I go to school. T: Make a conclusion that: I’m not ready for breakfast. Ss: Learn the word: ready. T: Continue to say: There’s no time for breakfast. So I take some bread with me. If you are not ready for breakfast, what will you take with? Ss: Try to give some suggestions: I can take some biscuits/ cakes…with me. 4)T: Talk with the students: Do we have lunch at 11:20? Then ask them: We need to wash our hands after lunch, right? Ss: Try to answer: Yes, we do. T: Ask the students who are on duty: Do you need to clean the classroom? Ss: Learn the phrase: need to clean the classroom. 5)T: Ask the students: Do you need to do your homework at home? Ss: Try to answer: Yes. T: Tell them that: You can watch TV after that. I also like watching TV. This night I want to watch a football game at 9:30. Do you want to watch it? Ss: Try to answer: Yes, I do. / No, I need to go to bed. 2. Learn the text. 1) Free talk. T: You know I have a busy day. David has a busy day, too.(Write down the title “A busy day” on the Bb.) Let’s watch a short cartoon. Then tell me: a) What day is it today? b) Is David ready for breakfast? c) What time does he go to school? 2) Watch a short cartoon. 3) Ss: Watch it carefully and prepare for the questions and learn the sentence: Not yet. Fill in the table: S: Try to answer the questions. 3. Ss: Read the text as follows. Then learn the sentences: Be quick. Let’s hurry. 1) Read the text after the tape to finish the table as follows: Time Activity 6:50 go to school 11:45 4:15 9:00 Ss: Check the answers with the teacher. Then make dialogues in pairs with sentence patterns: ---What time does David …? ---He … 2) Read the text by themselves. Ss: Fill in a short passage about David’s busy day as follows: It is T________.
