2019-2020年高中英語《unit1 wele to the unit》教案 牛津版必修3 Aims and requirements ◆ read a story about a woman lost in the fog and an article about shark attacks ◆ listen to a talk about a storytelling contest ◆ discuss the five senses and tell a story ◆ write a story with a surprise ending ◆ develop a TV show about an animal’s senses Procedures ●Wele to the Unit Step 1: Brainstorming Hi, everyone. I think we all had a wonderful time during the Spring Festival, so Id like to say HAPPY NEW YEAR! to everyone here. I hope we can make more and greater progress in our study from now on. What did you usually do during the winter holiday besides doing your everyday homework? (read books, do homework, watch TV, play games, surf the Internet, attend dinner party) Did you usually watch TV to enjoy different celebrations of the Spring Festival? (Yes, I enjoyed myself by watching CCTV programmes and those of different provinces in China.) Now lets enjoy a video, a very strange phenomenon. (news.xinhuanet/video/xx-11/17/content_5342771.htm). A farmer can see and read things in the darkness! Another picture! What about this picture? Say something about it, please. How can they carry out their performance? 1. Ok. Some questions for you to think about: ① With what can we see and hear? ② How can we know whether a dish is delicious? ③ How can we know that a flower has a pleasant smell? ④ What do we do when we want to know whether the water in the basin is hot or cold? ⑤ How do we know about the world around us? For reference: We see with our eyes and hear with our ears. We taste it with our tongues. We smell it with our noses. We put our hands in the water to feel it. We usually use our five senses. They are sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch. 2. Fill in the form with proper words. action sense organs the sense see eyes sight hear ears hearing taste tongue/ taste buds taste smell nose smell touch/feel hands/feet/skin touch 3. Sometimes our senses affect one another. Can you give some examples? (suppose you see the following) 4. Think about what would happen if people lost one or two of their senses. A person who cannot see is blind /a blind person and someone who cannot hear is deaf/a deaf-mute. Can blind people read? And how? How do the deaf municate with each other? Step2: Sharing information 1. People usually have 5 senses, which are sight, hearing, taste, smell and touch. They are very important in our daily lives. Now please look at the following pictures and then discuss the questions below with your partner. 1) What can you see in picture one? It depends, right? When looking at the white part, we can see a vase, but two faces when looking at the black part. 2) Now let’s e to picture 2, are the two lines of the same length? Well, we can measure the two lines with a ruler or use two pieces of paper to cover both ends of the two lines. Got the answer now? 3) Can you prove that the two lines in picture 3 are straight? Place a ruler next to the line or use a ruler to draw more straight lines which run parallel to the two lines. Then you’ll know the answer. 4) For line b in picture 4 we can read them as letters K, B, R, M, or K, 13, R, M. Did your eyes mislead you at the first sight of the four pictures? More or less I guess. That’s because the background or other lines confuse our eyes. Also, what we expect to see can change what we see. Actually, the brain is confused and not the eyes. Read the three questions and make sure you know the meaning of each one. Then discuss the three questions in groups of four. Try to grasp the chance to share your opinion. Some of you will be asked to report the answers to the whole class. Keys for reference: 1. We use one or two of the five senses more than the others when we need to. For example, in the darkness, the sense of hearing and the sense of touch bee more sensitive because we cannot see anything. When we listen to our favorite music, we will close our eyes and just want to listen with our ears. When we read an interesting book, we’ll lose ourselves in it, and hardly hear anything around us. When we eat something, we do not only taste or smell it. We look at it as well. 2. I think in listening English, the sense of sight and the sense of hearing help me a lot. I usually listen to the tape before I read it. While I listen to the tape, I’ll look at the text. And I often read the English text aloud. The bination of these two senses best helps me remember what I have learnt. 3. There are quite a few people who have made great achievements even when they have lost one of their senses. Take Beethoven, the great German poser, as an example. He began to lose his hearing in 1801 and was partly deaf by 1819. In 1824 when he was pletely deaf, Beethoven pleted his most famous symphony, the Ninth Symphony. Another famous musician in Hua Yanjun, Blind Abing. Although he could not see anything, his famous erhu solos are admired by people all over China.- 1.請(qǐng)仔細(xì)閱讀文檔,確保文檔完整性,對(duì)于不預(yù)覽、不比對(duì)內(nèi)容而直接下載帶來的問題本站不予受理。
